Usman Saeed, part of the Ziztel Sales department, demonstrating use of the LINUX based PCAP12-MX-2 high integrity PAGA touch screen access unit. In line with the requirements for safety critical PAGA availability the unit features dual independent circuits ensuring fault tolerant no break emergency life saving message broadcast capability.
The PAWS 01-2-1000 is a three channel 1500 Watt PAGA amplifier outstation designed to drive groups of loudspeakers and flashing beacons on a distributed network basis. Interstation communication technology employs Ethernet IP connectivity coupled with Ziztel unique hot line direct fall back channelisation enabling the package to be used in life safety critical applications.
The scheme removes the physical limitations of conventional PAGA networks allowing the system to grow almost without boundaries. Touch screen HMI enable the operators to target broadcasts to selected areas of the site and an almost limitless capability to initiate menus of alarm tone / high definition stored messages on a priority basis.

ZFL33X is a cost effective high performance 21 joule dual tube flashing beacon which delivers brilliant light pulses in an alarm situation. A 316 stainless steel construction removes the reliability problems associated with plastic enclosures guaranteeing low through life overhead and ensures consistent performance in severe environmental conditions. The unit is equipped with a Fresnel lens which optimises optical efficiency, provides a predictable and flexible flash colour assignment thereby eliminating inferior painted glass solutions. ZFL33X is also available with a copper free alloy enclosure.

The ZX100LT is the management core of a life safety PAGA system specifically designed to deliver high criticality emergency voice and alarm warning broadcasts in for example Nuclear / Military applications. The package eliminates dependence on sequentially executed code and instead employs highly developed static fail safe hardware enabling SIL (Safety Integrity Level IEC 61508) compliance and immunity from latent software defects. Cyber attack risk is also completely removed from the ZX100LT guaranteeing efficient site wide distribution of vital no break voice and visual / acoustic alarm signals.
The range utilises high grade 316 stainless steel enclosures (Optional copper free alloy available to order) and enable the user to eliminate dependence on unreliable plastic flashing beacons. All types are field proven in the world’s most aggressive environments. ZFL23X - 5 or 15 Joule single / twin tube capacity; ZFL33X - 21 joule dual tube; ZAB1 - up to eight flash tubes enabling four different colour beacons in a single fitting. Colour is given by a Fresnel optical lens which delivers high efficiency and removes reliance on paint pigments which vary in shade and degrade over time.
The ET001 multi channel fully selective intercom is certified for safe use in a Zone 1 IICT4 hazardous area. The unit incorporates a powerful 50 Watt amplifier, IP connectivity and, uniquely, fully duplicated A + B controls, duplicated noise cancelling microphones and dual PAGA interfaces. The station can be equipped with an optional integral explosion proof loudspeaker and has facility to drive visual warning flashing beacons.

The Ziztel SRS-001 is a navigational aid for use on board ships allowing the Officer in charge to monitor the direction of sound external to the bridge location. The system meets the requirements of IMO SOLAS Annex A1 1- 4.58 and Annex B Module B; SOLAS 74 Regulation V18,19 and X-3 resolution A.694(17) IMO resolution MCS 96 (70) and 191 (79). The ZC210 is the smallest ATEX certified Zone 1 explosion proof camera available on the market today. The unit is Ethernet ready and incorporates IR illumination and heater to enable operation in an extended range of conditions and temperatures. This highly cost effective unit enables the user to install CCTV in locations hitherto deemed non viable and the option of either aluminium enclosure or stainless steel enclosure provides the installer with a highly flexible solution.
Ziztel have extended the highly acclaimed ZAB-1 visual warning device range by adding a new model - type the ZFL23X. This cost effective compact flashing beacon delivers brilliant coloured light pulses from duplicated flash tubes. The unit is available with a choice of of light weight aluminium or stainless steel enclosure and is designed to deliver reliable effective signalling in conjunction with a PAGA or Fire and Gas detection system in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Ziztel were contracted to supply an integrated PAGA and hot line telephone system; a critical element of the delivery was the commissioning package which was undertaken by our highly trained site services engineering team.
The client required a live refit of a legacy Spector Lumenex PAGA system with a modern Ziztel solution. The system is destined for an offshore installation in the Red Sea and features N + 1 Class G amplification, supervisory GUI and operation from the site 24 VDC primary mains supply. All access positions are ATEX IECEx certified for safe Zone 1 operation in a potentially explosive atmosphere.
Recent on-site training delivered by John Blach Ziztel Technical Director. The course included an overview of PAGA architectures, cable installation topologies and ATEX / IECEx protection concepts. Training courses are tailored to client specification and can be staged at the Ziztel factory or at the client’s premises.

ZIZTEL selected for TANAP Pipeline in Turkey. PAGA, Pipeline Automated Warning System (PAWS) and Networked Voice Recorders.
Project team photographed following successful witness FAT of two Ziztel PAGA systems destined for Myanmar. The systems feature an N + 1 architecture which includes fully duplicated processors, hot stand by Class G 350 A amplification and ZMIS event logging. Each rack interfaces to a site Siren broadcast system and a supervisory output allows early warning of any system deterioration to be despatched to a remote engineering services position. The system is controlled from multiple AP100-01 operator positions which enable the initiation of a menu of stored alarm tone / messages as well as live routine and emergency speech broadcast capability.
EU07 entertainment ‘bed head’ unit in production at the Ziztel factory Nottingham, United Kingdom. The unit is destined for service on an offshore petrochemical installation in Malaysia. EU07 forms part of the Infinity range of entertainment units designed and manufactured by Ziztel Ltd.

ZAP10-02-07 series IP66 glass re enforced polyester microphone access units are safe for operation in Zone 1 IIC T4 potentially explosive atmospheres. In keeping with Ziztel philosophy of true redundancy the units are available with fully duplicated A + B critical paths ensuring the ZAP10-02-07 is suitable for mission critical applications. Fixed or goose neck mounted noise cancelling microphone-s can be assigned depending on client specification. Up to twenty one keys can be configured enabling comprehensive PAGA control from a hazardous area.

Virtual PC Access Unit
Ziztel have delivered a large networked PAGA system to the Oman petro chemical industry, included is our PCAP-12 touch screen access units which are located at strategic positions throughout the plant complex providing modern ergonomic GUI control capability.
The system is IP based enabling rapid and convenient connectivity with configuration of key parameters.

Ziztel Mosque Call to Prayer broadcast system for Oman
The Ziztel ZEST Paging and Alarm system facilitates the distribution and effective broadcast of the Call to Prayer message to, potentially, thousands of people.
The system is fully monitored with diagnostic and event logs available at remote management position-s, this coupled with a redundant architecture ensures broadcast availability at all times. Use of specialised loudspeakers and high quality microphone transducers deliver high quality reproduction.
Ziztel Engineer Sanar Al-Khemsey shown executing pre commissioning checks on the China Petroleum Pipeline CPP PAGA system located in Iraq. The system comprises of twenty sector racks connected by fibre optic cable to a head end master rack and allows both Emergency and Routine speech access and broadcast of General Alarm tone warnings.
Ziztel deliver an integrated MT50 talk back intercom and telephone PBX to another offshore drilling site West Africa.
The system provides voice paging broadcast capability from strategic locations including the Drillers control room, drill floor, shake shaker and pipe rack as well as from a network of telephone handset subscribers.
The telephony package enables communications to be extended both locally and to remote installations as well as connections to the public services network. The system employs DSP digital processing technology to guarantee highest speech intelligibility and elimination of acoustic feedback which is a common failing on legacy installations.
The equipment is located in both safe and potentially explosive hazardous atmospheres and is certified accordingly.
ZEST staged for FAT. This PAGA / MBS Public Address and Alarm / Main Broadcast System central amplifier panel carries fifty four 350A Class G amplifier modules providing in excess of 18,000 Watts in a single Rittal 42 Unit high rack. Mains supply Power Factor is critical with such a large number of amplifiers and the ZAPSU-02 AC convertor stage features a Power Factor of 0.9 ensuring stable and high efficiency performance.
MG600Exi noise cancelling microphone transducer now available certified as either IECEx or ATEX enabling safe use in Zone 1 and 2 potentially explosive atmospheres in ambient temperatures from -40 to + 60 Centigrade. The range includes surface or goose neck mounted variants.
Ziztel have delivered another CPP Party / Page communications system to a major land based Indonesian Petro chemical site.
The system employs the PPX16 Party line switch, enabling connection of 32 handset subscribers, and the highly acclaimed 350A Class G amplifier which drives 700 Watts of loudspeaker network load. The CPP panel supports point to point selective full duplex handset communications as well as open channel party line speech routing and digitally processed site wide voice paging.

The Ziztel ZMR120 is a digital record / replay system which eliminates acoustic feedback caused by proximity of live microphone / handsets to public address loudspeakers in Page / Party and PAGA applications.
The latest ZMR120 unit can interface to VOIP or conventional analogue equipment and is fitted with configuration to enable the user to prescribe a range of features which include facilities to review and re- record messages prior to message broadcast, zone selection (to allow targeting of broadcasts to user defined areas of the site), unique pre announcement chimes, control and selection of stored messages and alarm tones.

Ziztel 350A 350 Watt Class G industrial amplifier is now further enhanced to provide a world beating signal to noise ratio of -90dB and improved frequency response delivering top quality broadcast performance in safety critical PAGA applications. Over 3000Watts of power are available in only a tiny 3 U high 19 inch rack space.
Ziztel have released a secure two way voice communications package which enables point to point hot line handset intercom. Typical application is on a Refinery complex where a dedicated stand-alone ‘must work’ voice communications is required between control room positions. The system comprises of either a 19 inch or bulk head mount handset switch which provides power supply and hybrid connectivity between two strategically located handset positions. Interconnection is by a standard single pair cable or options are available to allow single mode fibre optic connectivity.
Ziztel is selected to provide an integrated Drillers talk back and Tetra communications system for the North Sea Mariner offshore platform project. The system is controlled from four master positions i.e. two Driller and two assistant driller chairs; each chair has the ability to initiate and receive secure two way speech communications to fixed subscriber stations as well route to roving Tetra handsets.
The package is managed by Ziztel MT50-20MAS, which is a highly developed voice communications switch, that supports wired ATEX / IECEx hazardous area located subscriber positions as well as selection of radio based certified handsets.
The system employs Ziztel Vari-lift master access unit lectern which allows the driller to adjust the operating position of the control panel HMI to suit individual preference thereby minimising operator fatigue throughout the work shift.

Ziztel is selected for a major gas development project located in Oman. The prestigious ‘tight’ gas development will incorporate a 1200 mmscfd (34 mcmd) gas processing plant, export pipelines, provision of 300-400 wells, 600 km of flow lines and gathering systems over the life of the initiative. The N + 1 system is designed to provide routine and emergency speech broadcasts from three master operator access units to over 1300 loudspeakers strategically placed over the site and interfaces are incorporated to allow PABX access and Supervisory management.
Nick Blach – General Manager - explained that the package was fast tracked through the Ziztel manufacturing facilities to ensure build and test met project critical time scales. The central rack carries 22 on line 350-500A CLASS G high integrity voice amplifiers (incorporating auto hot standby) enabling a power density 11kW in a single Rittal rack bay. Dual AC primary / secondary mains input feeders and N + 1 power supply conversion ensure no break autonomy.

Ziztel PCAP12 control and access unit allows the operator to address a Ziztel ZEST PAGA system via a PC screen on either a touch or point and click basis. The unit allows total flexibility in the specification of the human / machine interface with custom graphics, legends, text and colours all freely assignable to meet project specific requirements.
Explosion proof Drillers talkback intercom system operates in both Zone 1 and 2 hazardous areas enabling reliable, efficient two way voice communications between strategic locations on board the rig. The system comprises of master position subscriber selector, long reach microphone and noise cancelling slave stations each equipped with high efficiency re-entrant horn loudspeakers designed to provide coverage in high noise areas. No safe area is required with the MT50 package, the exchange and power amplification can be located in a potentially explosive atmosphere. The system requires mains power supply at one position only, all other field equipment devices are phantom powered.

New addition to the Ziztel range, allows intelligible speech from Zone 1 and 2 hazardous areas. The MG600 can be supplied for fixed panel mount or bulk head mounting and is also available with short and long reach ‘goose neck’ flexible stem options. MG600 is ideal for location in confined spaces.
The 350-500 A Class G amplifier is a new addition to the Ziztel ZEST range and is based on the extensively proven 350 A PAGA amplifier. 350–500 A is specified for voice paging / public address service, enabling loudspeaker loads of up to 500 watts to be reliably and efficiently driven. The amplifier module carries an on board supervisory and integrated status display which provide the operator with an early warning of system deterioration.
Where high criticality PAGA is specified Ziztel can enhance system security by incorporation of the N + 1 ZX100-ATS-01 hot standby alarm tone subsystem. This module carries a duplicate of the site alarm tone menu in a highly secure non-volatile, non-software dependant environment. The ZX100-ATS-01 plugs in to the central equipment ZX100 ZEST PAGA processor unit and is configured on an N + 1 basis to enable automatic transfer of loudspeaker amplifier drive from the on line ZX100 alarm tone sub system to hot standby alarm generation in event of primary alarm trouble. The module is configurable by PC file down load via a dongle protected cable which prevents unauthorised tampering. With ATS-01 installed, the host package can support both an A + B fully redundant dual centralised architecture coupled with additional N + 1 security for the site alarm tone generation subsystem.

Ziztel Mass Evacuation (Z-MEVA) utilises a distributed clustered horn approach to drastically reduce field cabling and speed installation.
Ziztel ZEST PAGA Z-MEVA system uses 'racked' folded horn loudspeaker drivers arranged to provide highly efficient 'line source' projection over 360 degrees eliminating the requirement for costly conventional individual loudspeaker networks.
Towers are strategically located to ensure acoustic coverage over the entire site reducing costs by optimising the installation of field devices and associated cable installation. Each individual horn driver is addressable using Ziztel ZADS to provide the operator with an early warning of system deterioration and to allow convenient centralised alteration of speaker sound pressure level from a command position..
Multiple 350A 350 Watt Class G amplifiers drive each horn cluster on an interleaved A + B basis with hot standby N + 1 amplification eliminating common mode failure and ensuring security commensurate with a life safety system. 350A Amplifiers are centrally rack mounted or co located with the cluster at the base of the tower. The Ziztel MEVA system is designed specifically for life safety critical application and is not dependant on software ensuring predictable operation and freedom from re boots / latent coding bugs. The Z-MEVA package is fully PC configurable without dependency on chip exchanges or hardware alterations.

Ziztel have delivered a large networked ZEST PAGA system to the Hammar Mishrif site in Iraq. The system execution employs a fully duplicated mission critical high security architecture which features ZMIS supervision and management enabling remote control and interrogation. Unlike other PAGA systems on the market today the Ziztel ZEST core operation is static with no dependence on software / code which ensures compliance with the requirements of SIL Level 3 and is commensurate with a high integrity PAGA system.
The package features a ‘proper’ A + B architecture, note that IP based PAGA solutions alone cannot achieve a truly fault tolerant delivery compatible with a prime life safety system.

New product release. The ZXM032 is a solid state micro controlled speech storage device. The unit can store up to 100 x voice messages each held in secure non-volatile memory. The ZXM032 plugs into a Ziztel ZX100 PAGA control processor and delivers a menu of pre-recorded emergency or routine voice messages under control of either the operator and / or the site fire and gas detection package. Cause and effect is readily configured in the host management subsystem to allow zonal distribution, alarm tone augmentation (interleaved MESSAGE / ALARM TONE / MESSAGE ..) or site wide pre-defined voice instructions.
Ziztel DAS04Ex is a Zone 1 ATEX certified Explosion proof distributed intercom station which operates on a network basis thereby eliminating the requirement for a centralised exchange or switch. The unit is primarily intended to provide secure 'last ditch' open channel emergency voice communications between critical muster point positions on an offshore installation. To this end the unit incorporates self-contained integral no break supply autonomy, amplification and system management and is arranged so that there is no dependency on other equipment or other stations. The DAS01 Ex is supplied with ZAP10-02-11 explosion proof noise cancelling microphone and DSP15 EXMN explosion proof projector horn which together assure high speech intelligibility in potentially hazardous severe environmental conditions. Where the unit must provide efficient operation in ambient noise exceeding 85dBA sound pressure level the Ziztel AH23-60079 acoustic hood provides both excellent back ground noise rejection as well as additional shelter for both the equipment and user. The station is interconnected to other DAS04-Ex subscribers via a simple single pair cable which is arranged on a secure loop wired basis, up to 50 x DAS04-Ex stations can be connected to a single highway.
The Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex is located in Thanh Hoa Province in North Vietnam, around 200 kilometers south of Hanoi. As Vietnam's largest oil refinery, it is expected to contribute more than 30 percent of Vietnam's demand for petroleum products. The new refinery will include a petrochemical complex, energy facilities, pipe line and storage facilities. It will produce products such as gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel for the local Vietnamese market, together with other products for sale in neighbouring countries.
Ziztel were selected to supply the audible alarm sounder / visual flashing beacons necessary to ensure signalling in high noise areas of the plant.
Management is provided by a network of sounder / beacon drivers, TCA-01X, which are locally powered to provide amplifier and control outputs to dedicated 100 V line loudspeakers and xenon discharge lamps. The TCA-01X outstation is distributed over the site and includes both ATEX certified Zone 1 and safe area weatherproof variants.
Ziztel Integrated Page Party and PAGA package combines five party lines enabling full duplex handset communications, zonal voice paging and site wide emergency alarm and speech broadcasts. The system is based on the Ziztel PPX page party solution and is shown undergoing final FAT checks at our manufacturing facilities in Nottingham England in readiness for air freight to YPFB Ammonia and Urea complex Bolivia. The development is the largest project of industrialization of natural gas so far undertaken in the country.
The state oil company YPFB, stated that plant is designed to produce 650 thousand tons of ammonia and 725 thousand tons of urea and should be operational in the second half of 2015.
Many sites are subject to requirement for expansion of their existing PAGA system, this can be very costly due to either complete re fit of the existing equipment(s) or non-competitive unrealistic quotations for upgrade / renovations from the respective vendor.

The Ziztel SR2000 loudspeaker network amplifier is the latest addition to the ZEST PAGA family; the unit carries up to nine audio power amplifiers in plug in / out modular format incorporating touch screen management and full system diagnostics in a highly compact 3 Unit high 19 inch rack mount assembly.
